Spherion is seeking a Human Resources Manager for our client in Fort Wayne, IN! This role is a strategic and operational partnership designed for a hands-on HR professional who thrives in a manufacturing or industrial environment. The successful candidate will manage the full employee lifecycle for both hourly and salaried populations within a plant setting. This is a high-impact position requiring an on floor presence to drive culture, manage employee relations, and ensure compliance in a fast-paced facility.


Responsibilities:
Employee Relations & Culture:
Act as the primary point of contact for plant employees and supervisors regarding policy interpretation and workplace concerns.
Conduct thorough, objective investigations into employee grievances or performance issues.
Foster a positive workplace culture tailored to a manufacturing workforce to drive retention and engagement.


Full-Cycle Talent Acquisition:
Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, specifically focusing on skilled trades, production staff, and administrative roles.
Partner with department heads to identify staffing needs and develop sourcing strategies.
Facilitate a high-impact New Hire Orientation (NHO) and onboarding experience to ensure new team members are set up for success from day one.


Compliance, Legal & Safety:
Ensure all HR activities comply with federal, state, and local laws (EEOC, FMLA, ADA, etc.).
Maintain accurate employee records and personnel files in accordance with legal requirements.
Support plant safety initiatives and Workers' Compensation claims management.


Systems & Administration:
Manage employee data and payroll workflows using HRIS Systems.
Administer benefits enrollment and assist employees with inquiries regarding health plans and 401(k).


Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM


Skills:
SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus


Education:
High School


Experience:
4-7 years


Qualifications:
5-7 Years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing, production, or plant-based environment.
