Role: Zscaler Engineer

Location: Ontario, CA (Remote)

Type: Contract

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize Zscaler solutions, with particular emphasis on Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) deployments
• Configure and maintain ZPA App Connectors, Client Connectors, and Application Segments
• Develop and implement policies for secure application access based on zero trust principles
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to the Zscaler platform and connectivity
• Create and manage Application Segments and Server Groups within ZPA
• Implement and manage Browser Access capabilities for web applications
• Configure and maintain ZPA integrations with identity providers (IdPs) and other security tools
• Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless operation
• Develop and maintain documentation for Zscaler architecture, configurations, and processes
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation for critical security incidents
• Stay current on Zscaler product updates, new features, and best practices

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 3+ years of experience with Zscaler products, with at least 2 years focused on ZPA implementation and management
• Current Zscaler certifications (ZIA or ZPA Administrator/Professional)
• Strong understanding of zero trust network architecture principles
• Experience with identity and access management solutions (Okta, Azure AD, etc.)
• Knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, and proxies
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Python, APIs)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Zscaler Certified Cloud Security Expert (ZCCSE) certification
• Experience with Zscaler Digital Experience (ZDX) and Zscaler Cloud Protection (ZCP)
• Knowledge of SASE architecture and implementation
• Experience with SD-WAN technologies
• Security certifications such as CISSP, Security+, or equivalent
• Experience with secure application deployment in multi-cloud environments
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks (PCI-DSS, HIPAA, etc.)
• Experience with SIEM tools and security analytics
