Steel Systems Installation, Inc. is looking to add a Welder/Fabricator to their team.

Position Summary

Welders perform duties in the steel fabrication shop related to all elements of steel fabrication and welding. Duties primarily involve welding processes but also include operating basic hand tools, component assembly, operating metal fabrication equipment including saws, drills, grinders that are associated with structural steel fabrication.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

1. Operate forklift when Material Handler is not available.
2. Cut and detail steel for fabrication.
3. Fabrications and welding as per company policies and standards.
4. Perform all aspects of tank manufacture.
5. Preparation and painting of materials.
6. Maintain a clean, and organized working area.
7. Follow all company safety rules and policies, alerting supervisor of any potential unsafe conditions or situations.
8. Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner, including time cards and material inventory lists.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications and Skills Required

• Ability to interpret shop drawings.
• Basic knowledge of structural steel shapes, sizes, and grades. Some tools and machines are computerized, requiring technical knowledge to use.
• Basic reading and writing skills.
• Knowledge and respect of shop safety.
• Able to perform physically demanding work.
• Ability to communicate orally.
