This role is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor & Delivery (L&D) at a facility in Rome, NY. The RN will provide skilled nursing care to mothers and newborns, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. The position requires experience in performing cervical checks and managing a high volume of births.

Responsibilities:
- Providing skilled nursing care to laboring mothers and postpartum patients.
- Performing cervical checks.
- Monitoring fetal heart rate.
- Administering medications as ordered.
- Assisting with deliveries and immediate newborn care.
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Charting patient progress and vital signs.
- Maintaining a safe and clean patient environment.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN) certification.
- NIH stroke certification (prior to start).
- Completion of 8 hours of facility-specific continuing education units (CEUs).
- Ability to perform cervical checks.
- Minimum of 2 years of hospital experience (inferred from fallback template).
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Travel nursing experience.
Special Considerations:
- Every other weekend and holiday night shift (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM).
- High-volume L&D unit (approximately 700 births per year).
- 1:1 patient-nurse ratio.
- COVID-19 vaccination documentation or declination required.
