Responsibilities

Ascension St. Agnes is looking for a OB/GYN Physician Assistant for our team!

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension St. Agnes Hospital to provide medical services to patients.

Position Highlights:

The PRN Provider schedule is designed to offer maximum flexibility and work-life balance. You will have the opportunity to select shifts that fit your availability. Work hours are not guaranteed and will vary based on organizational staffing needs. Shifts may be available for all hours and days, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Minimum availability requirements will apply per PRN policy (e.g., a set number of shifts per scheduling period).

Responsibilities:

  • Consult on OB/Gyn patients throughout the hospital including the Emergency Department.
  • First assist in OB and GYN surgeries - open, laparoscopic, robotic.
  • Provide direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision of a physician.
  • Obtain patient history and perform assessment. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic procedures.
  • Provide and document direct treatment and management of health conditions.
  • Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
  • Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.
Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Required Credential(s):

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office
  • Physician Assistant credentialed from the Maryland Board of Physicians obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office

Preferred Credential(s):

  • Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).Verified by local Credentialing Office

Education:

  • Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience:

  • 1 year of experience preferred.
