Job Description
Description We are looking for a skilled Payroll Clerk to join our team in Tempe, Arizona. This is a long-term contract position that offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, combining both in-office and remote work. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in payroll processes, union and non-union payrolls, and advanced Excel capabilities to ensure seamless payroll operations for over 1,000 employees weekly.
Responsibilities:
- Process weekly union and non-union payrolls for over 1,000 employees with precision and attention to detail.
- Utilize payroll systems, including and Paychex, to manage accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Interpret and apply union agreements to ensure compliance and mitigate payroll-related grievances.
- Generate and analyze reports using Excel, leveraging formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs for efficient data management.
- Handle garnishments and other payroll deductions in accordance with legal requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address payroll discrepancies and resolve employee inquiries.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Support the transition of all payroll processes to , streamlining operations and improving efficiency.
- Provide regular updates and reports to management on payroll activities and trends. Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing, including union and non-union payrolls.
- Proficiency in payroll systems such as and Paychex.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and formula-driven reporting.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, garnishments, and deductions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in handling complex payroll data.
- Ability to interpret union agreements and ensure compliance in payroll operations.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills to address payroll-related issues.
- Experience in managing payroll for large-scale operations of 1,000+ employees.
