Job Description

Reporting to and under the general direction of the Payroll Manager, this position interacts with staff, department timekeepers, Managers and Directors and performs a variety of duties pertaining to preparation of timecards for payment, and maintenance of payroll records. This position is responsible for assisting in the timely & accurate review of biweekly timecards for employees with various alternative wage orders, including co-payment calculations for employees on leave of absence. Other duties include various clerical project support, processing employee tuition applications, and assisting with preparation of quarterly taxes, W-2s, and fiscal/calendar year-end duties.

Education/Training/ Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• A minimum of 3 or more years of hospital payroll experience is required.
• Must possess basic knowledge of CA wage & hour laws, including Wage Orders 4 & 5 and alternative work schedules.
• Experience with Kronos UKG Workforce Dimensions Time & Attendance. Meditech payroll system is a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and ability to perform 10-key by touch.
