This is Caterpillar ( Caterpillar is seeking a Paralegal to join its legal team in **Albertville, Alabama** . The paralegal will be responsible for assisting corporate attorneys with legal tasks and activities to support Caterpillar's Rail team through its wholly owned subsidiary, Progress Rail. This Rail Paralegal role will work directly as a partner with attorneys and internal business clients to support commercial contracts and related activities, which are implemented to help achieve the clients' business goals and objectives covering the Rail team's global footprint. The successful applicant will serve as trusted support to corporate attorneys and the internal business teams. This role works directly with Caterpillar and Progress Rail teams globally, as well as other legal professionals, and reports to an Assistant General Counsel for Rail sitting in Mannheim, Germany. **What You Will Do:** + Conducting legal tasks, such as contract drafting and related support, due diligence, and research, under the supervision of corporate legal attorneys + Assisting corporate legal attorneys in resolving routine legal issues + Work closely with Rail business unit leadership and staff, as well as relevant subject matter experts + Collaborate with members of the enterprise legal team and regional legal teams to ensure the provision of responsive and high-quality legal support globally + Maintaining repositories of legal documentation and procedures **What You Have:** + **Accuracy and Attention to Detail** : Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision + **Confidentiality** : Knowledge of practices and policies governing disclosure of information about the organization, its business activities, and employees; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations + **Decision Making and Critical Thinking:** Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; Willing to work independently, take initiative, bear risks, make timely decisions and take responsibilities to resolve problems and improve business results + **Effective Communications:** Proficient in creating and presenting verbal and written communications in a variety of communication settings.
