Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Azure Data Engineer with 1–2 years of experience in SQL, Python, and Azure Fabric to join our growing data-engineering team.

This role is ideal for someone with 1–2 years of experience in SQL and Python, strong analytical skills, and enthusiasm to learn cloud technologies. The candidate will assist senior engineers in developing, testing, and maintaining reliable and scalable data solutions that power business analytics and reporting across Finance, Operations, and Enterprise functions.

This will be a hybrid position out of our corporate headquarters in Wilmington, MA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support data-pipeline development and migration activities for Legacy Data Warehouse (LDW) to Azure Fabric Lakehouse/Warehouse.
  • Write efficient SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation across multiple databases (SQL Server 2022, Azure SQL MI, Synapse).
  • Develop and debug Python scripts for automation, file ingestion, and data-quality checks.
  • Assist in building Fabric dataflows, pipelines, and lakehouse tables aligned with enterprise data-modeling standards.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on ETL design, optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Perform unit testing, peer code reviews, and maintain technical documentation in Confluence/Git.
  • Monitor data-load processes and assist in resolving job failures (Zephyr test case execution, JIRA updates).
  • Continuously learn emerging Azure technologies (Databricks, Fabric, Power BI) and contribute to process-improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience with SQL (T-SQL preferred) and Python scripting.
  • Basic understanding of data-warehousing concepts (ETL, staging, fact/dimension modeling).
  • Exposure to Azure services such as Data Factory, Synapse, or Fabric components.
  • Strong curiosity, analytical mindset, and attention to detail.
  • Enthusiasm to learn enterprise-scale systems and deliver high-quality, production-ready code.

The estimated annual salary for this position ranges from $68,000 to $85,000. Actual compensation will vary based on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications. Geographic differentials may also apply depending on the position’s location. There is no application deadline for this role; recruitment will remain open until the position is filled.
