HR Generalist | Caledonia, MI

Salary Range: $61,000 - $88,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Caledonia seeking HR Generalists who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruitment for production, skilled trades, and administrative roles, ensuring a continuous pipeline of qualified talent.
• Provide guidance and support on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management within a manufacturing environment.
• Ensure HR policies and procedures comply with federal and state labor laws, including OSHA regulations pertinent to plant operations.
• Administer comprehensive onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire orientation with a focus on plant safety and culture.
• Process payroll inputs, administer benefits programs, and manage leave requests (FMLA, short-term disability) for a diverse workforce.
• Support the development and implementation of training initiatives, particularly those related to safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
• Manage workers' compensation claims and collaborate with operations to promote a safe working environment and reduce incidents.

Recommended Qualifications

• Experience as an HR Generalist within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• In-depth knowledge of federal and state labor laws, including OSHA regulations.
• Proven ability in employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management.
• Experience with full-cycle recruitment for production, skilled trades, and operational roles.
• Proficiency in HRIS platforms and payroll administration.

Bonus Qualifications

• Bilingual proficiency, particularly Spanish.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Exposure to or experience in unionized environments.
• Understanding of OSHA regulations and safety program involvement.
