- Clinical Shift Schedule: 8-hour shifts
- On-Call Shift Schedule: May vary by location (nightly, every other night or 24-hour)
COVERAGE DATES:
- Minimum: One week per month.
- Ongoing opportunity through end of 2025.
- Monday–Sunday.
- Exact dates to be scheduled based on facility needs.
PATIENT INFORMATION:
- Patient Demographics: Adults.
- Patient Volume/Census: 10–20 patients/day.
- Admissions: Yes.
- Rounding: Included.
- Phone Consults: Yes.
- Case Mix: Gastroenterology consults, follow-ups, scopes (Colonoscopy, Endoscopy, ERCP).
FACILITY INFORMATION:
- Office Equipment Available: Endoscopy unit with full staff.
- Specialty Backup Available: Surgical staff available.
- Support Staff Available: Advanced Practitioners, full hospital team.
- Reason for Coverage: Supplemental coverage across hospital network.
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE:
- Hospital Privileges Required: Yes.
- Temporary Privileges Available: No.
- Credentialing Timeline: 30 days.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Rate: Daily rate.
- Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered.
REQUIRED PROCEDURES:
- Colonoscopy.
- Endoscopy.
- ERCP (REQUIRED).
- EUS (Preferred – evidence of 24 procedures in past 36 months; mucosal/submucosal, pancreaticobiliary, and EUS-guided fine needle aspirations).
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Licenses: Active FL license required.
- Board: Board Certified in Gastroenterology.
- DEA: Active DEA Certification.
- Certifications: BLS/ACLS as applicable.
- Experience: Must have seen at least 50 inpatient or consultative GI patients in past 12 months.
Other Qualifications:
- Clean background.
- Clean NPDB.
- Must meet procedure log requirements.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide inpatient gastroenterology services (consults, follow-ups, and procedures).
- Perform required procedures (Colonoscopy, Endoscopy, ERCP).
- Work collaboratively with APPs and hospital support staff.
- Cover one location per shift (no mid-day travel between sites).
- Maintain flexibility for coverage between locations across the network.
