Job Description

Craftsmen Contractors is looking for an experienced Maintenance Electrician for the Minden, La. area. This role is with a manufacturing plant that constructs modules and steel structures for data centers. You will be responsible for maintaining, replacing, or repairing electrical equipment throughout the plant. This is a temp-to-permanent position for the right candidate. The work schedule involves day shifts from Monday through Friday and every other Saturday when needed.

Pay ranges from $23.70 to $ 35.80 per hour, depending on experience.
No per diem is offered.
Weekly pay via direct deposit.

Job duties include:
Replacing circuit breakers, fuses, disconnects, and other electrical components.
Repairing electrical saws, vacuums, and other tools as needed.
Ensuring work complies with the National Electric Code.
Troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems throughout the facility.
Performing routine repairs on AC systems.
Conducting preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities independently.
Maintaining security and controlled access systems, including cameras, gate controls, maglocks, prox- readers, and fiber optic modules.
Reading blueprints and schematics for electrical repairs.
Being available for on-call work 24/7.

Job requirements include:
Passing forklift certification and a short written electrical test.
An electrical license is a plus.
Skilled in PLC troubleshooting and programming.
Basic math and computer skills.
Ability to bend and run conduit.
Capable of reading and interpreting blueprints.
Proficient in single three- phase electrical systems and troubleshooting.
Knowledgeable of motor starters and controllers.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Good judgment and attention to detail.
Ability to work at heights and use ladders.
Passing a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Possessing a high school diploma or GED.
Experience operating forklifts, man-lifts, and scissor lifts.
Familiar with testing equipment such as DVMs, amp clamps, pH meters, and chart recorders.
Ability to lift to 20 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally (with assistance) when working with electrical tools and equipment.
