What is the Position? Evercore seeks to hire an Equity Research Senior Associate / Vice President for its Media, Cable, and Telecom Services team located in New York, NY. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual comfortable working as a strong second-in-command to the senior analyst, effectively operating as the chief-of-staff for the team and supporting a substantial share of responsibilities in writing research, analysis, forming investment views and research ideas, and interacting with internal and external counterparts. This is a visible role with significant autonomy.
Prior equity research, investment banking, or buy-side experience is strongly preferred and any background across media, cable, and telecom services is a plus though not necessarily required if the individual has strong analytical and writing skills. Primary Responsibilities: - Author industry and company-specific research reports
- Develop and update company and industry models, including creating differentiated bespoke analyses
- Perform financial and valuation analysis of covered companies
- Contribute to idea generation for research ideas and long/short stock calls
- Mentor and develop junior talent
- Be a key point of contact for the team with internal and external stakeholders, including sales, other Evercore research teams, investors, and corporate counterparts
- Oversee data collection and monitor investor news services
- Attend industry events and gather information on current trends
Specific Qualifications: - 3+ years of prior experience in equity research, investment banking, buy-side, or other finance roles
- Exceptional analytical and Excel modeling capabilities
- Excellent communication skills; the job entails significant writing responsibilities ranging from short write-ups to lengthy deep dives
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Concrete understanding of / demonstrated interest in corporate finance & equity markets
- Understanding of the media, cable, and telecom services sectors is preferred, but not required
- Series 7, 63, 86 and 87 (or willingness to obtain)
Expected Base Salary Range: $145,00-$200,000 In addition to a competitive base salary, employees may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus delivered in the form of cash and/or deferred equity.
