Job Title: Certified Medical Coder – Remote

Location: Bronx, NY

Duration: 3+ Month Contract (Extendable)

Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Pay Rate: $37/hr for 40 hours

• Begins with 1–2 weeks of onsite training (manager is flexible).

• Fully remote after training and once responsibilities are mastered.

• Must have EPIC and 3M experience.

• CCS or CPC certification required (both preferred).

• Strong outpatient and emergency department (ED) coding background.

• Should be able to work independently with minimal training.

• Inpatient coding experience strongly preferred.

• Perform medical coding in an acute care environment.

• Use coding systems including ICD-9-CM , ICD-10 , CPT-4 , and encoder software.

• Interpret and apply federal billing, payer, and coding guidelines.

• Utilize computer applications such as MS Word and Excel.

• Research and resolve coding-related issues.

• Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.

• Use the 3M/HDS coding application .

• Support coder training as needed.

• Minimum 3 years of coding experience .

• Proficiency in ICD-10 and strong understanding of coding regulations.

• Ability to work in both inpatient and ED coding environments.

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• AHIMA credentials accepted: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CCP .
