Auto Claims Adjuster (Entry Level)

This is an in-office role in Naperville, IL with a training class beginning in January. This is an entry-level role with an amazing training program for a high-level tech client.

Position Overview

We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Auto Claims Adjuster to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals starting their career in insurance and claims. You’ll be responsible for analyzing mid- and higher-level general auto claims, determining the scope of damages, and ensuring claims are adjudicated in line with company standards and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze auto claims to assess damage scope and coverage.
  • Ensure timely and accurate adjudication of claims in compliance with internal guidelines and industry standards.
  • Identify potential subrogation opportunities and assist in recovery efforts.
  • Negotiate settlements with involved parties while maintaining fairness and compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve claims efficiently.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and reporting throughout the claims process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with claims management systems is a plus.
  • Interest in building a career in insurance, claims, or risk management.
  • Subject matter expert of appropriate insurance principles and laws for line-of-business handled, recoveries offsets and deductions, claim and disability duration, cost containment principles as applicable to line-of-business.

As required by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency in job postings. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and cost of specific location. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is ($50,000 - $55,000 USD annually). A comprehensive benefits package is offered including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, 401k and matching, PTO, disability and life insurance, employee assistance, flexible spending or health savings account, and other additional voluntary benefits.
