Description
A. T. Still University (ATSU) is seeking a part-time, non-exempt Library Assistant on the Kirksville, MO campus.

Hours are Saturday & Sunday 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, Wednesday 5:00 -10:00 pm, and Friday 5:00 -10:00pm.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists students, faculty, and other library patrons with all library resources and services information needs, including technology/troubleshooting questions opening/closing library (security).
• Checks in and out books, OTM Tables, Projectors, Easels, SAAD Lamps, and media materials using the automated circulation system.
• Maintains a petty cash drawer and provides directional information to patrons.
• Answers all incoming telephone calls, transfers calls or takes messages, assist patrons needing information from reserve book collection, and maintains printers/photocopy machines.
• Reshelves books and periodicals.
• Monitors office supply cabinet.
• Monitors Room reservation schedule.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Secondary Job Duties:

• Maintains 3D washer and notifies students when items are ready for pick up. Assist 3D print manager as needed.
• Shifts periodicals or books to allow space for new materials.
• Researches and updates assorted book lists as assigned. (i.e., reserve books, Wiley e-books)
• Stocks copiers and printers
• Tracks petty cash.
• Updates front desk operation manual as needed.
• Assists students with faxes or scanning needs
• Disposal of recycling bins, light housekeeping, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Skills and Experience

• A high school diploma is required, with some college or technical school preferred.
• 1-2 years' work experience with library experience is highly desired.
• Familiarity with manipulating Excel, Word, Adobe, and PowerPoint files.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.

• Well organized, dependable, flexible, and good interpersonal skills.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Facility with learning technology programs quickly.
• Able to work under minimal supervision
