The Assistant Director of Athletic Communications within the Athletic Department at Missouri Southern will report to the Director of Athletic Communications and will support communication and media relations efforts for all NCAA varsity sports.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
This person will assist daily with the internal and external communications efforts for the MSSU Athletic Department and all its varsity sports programs.
The incumbent will be responsible for all game day related activities including statistical compilation, arranging scoreboard operators and student workers.
Responsible for upkeep of the official athletics website (www.mssulions.com), providing content in the forms of recaps, previews, stats and features.
The incumbent will also be responsible for the design and editing of game day programs, as well as designing and keeping game notes for sports assigned by the Director of Athletic Communications.
This person will operate within the guidelines of NCAA, MIAA and institutional rules and regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Licenses
College Degree Required
One year prior professional experience in the Sports Information Field
An equivalent amount of experience can be substituted for education
Experience in statistical programs such as StatCrew, PrestoSports, and Genius Sports
Experience with desktop publishing software (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.)
