Job Description

Accounts Payable Specialist Location Silver Spring, MD :

HH Fund is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support the processing of accounts payable transactions and assist with collections for a portfolio of housing apartment buildings across the United States. This role requires high accuracy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The Accounts Payable Specialist will report to the AP Manager and be based in our Silver Spring, MD office.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day processing of accounts payable invoices to ensure accuracy and timely vendor payments.
  • Enter invoices for assigned entities and maintain organized records.
  • Obtain proper approvals for invoice payments in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensure all transactions comply with financial procedures and internal controls.
  • Accurately code and process invoices, including data imports from various platforms.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to invoice processing.
  • Support collections by sending out collection letters and following up as needed.
  • Assist with additional AP-related tasks and projects as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in Accounts Payable.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience with accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential financial information.
  • Effective communication skills for vendor relations and internal collaboration.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Real Estate Property Accounting.
  • Familiarity with RealPage Property Management Software.
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks.
  • Experience using AvidXchange or similar AP automation tools.
